CV: Mike Smith

Designer + Developer

Personal Profile

I’m a hybrid designer-developer who bridges the gap between creative vision and technical execution. Since 2018, I’ve focused solely on building a freelance practice by helping a wide variety of clients from startups through to established brands like Channel 4, Pfizer and Amazon while delivering both innovative design and seamless implementation. My background combines a First-class Graphic Design degree from Arts University Bournemouth with 10+ years of agency and freelance experience across branding, digital design, and web development.

What sets me apart is my ability to design digital solutions and then build them myself, eliminating the typical designer to developer handoff issues while ensuring precise execution of the creative vision. I specialise in creative web design and user-centred digital experiences that deliver measurable impact for my clients.

This dual approach has enabled me to deliver everything from complete digital starter kits for emerging brands to complex web applications for brands like Amazon, Channel 4 and Pfizer.

My expertise has evolved from traditional brand identity work to full-stack digital solutions, allowing me to serve as both creative director and technical lead on complex projects from end to end.
