Frank & Earnest Crafted Coffee
Identity
Project Details
I worked with Frank & Earnest from their inception, providing them with their first visual identity. The task was to create something that reinforced the values of the brand; honesty, simplicity and authenticity. I opted for solid, serious type and paired it with a softer, distressed face to reinforce the artisanal, hand-crafted nature of the product. The rest of the visual language was made of distressed textures and vintage detailing.

Packaging
The initial product was a range of freshly roasted coffee available in different blends for various purposes. Part of the brief for the packaging was that there needed to be a clear way to mark on the roast date, roast level and grind size. The design was then hot stamped onto the bags to give it a textured and authentic look.
After the success of the first products, a line of bottled cold brew coffee was introduced and soon after their range of signature Nitro cold brew. I created an alternate ‘frosted’ version of the brand and collaborated with the owners on the packaging design for the new product.
Following the success of the cold brew range, I was tasked with producing a booklet to accompany the product. The content of the book was mainly cocktail recipes but also included elements of brand storytelling. I added Adobe Caslon to the family of faces used within the branding due to it’s great legibility at smaller sizes.
