Vinyl Hunter
Digital / Identity
Project Details
I worked with Vinyl Hunter in their infancy to produce a brand identity for their independent record store. They wanted something clean and modern that also reflected the retro roots of the business. The logo was composed of a turntable motif alongside bold and blocky type. The mostly grey colour palette was selected to emphasise notions of timelessness and classicism with a bright cyan providing an accent.

Digital
The primary aims of the website were firstly to provide customers with information and updates regarding the store and their stock and secondly to encourage customer engagement.
The former was achieved through features such as event listings and latest release info. The “Our Picks” section of the home page allowed staff members to stamp their tastes on the site and connect with users on a personal level. Personalised rewards and discounts offered through a VIP members scheme helped to strengthen these connections.

E-commerce
Once the business was established and doing well within the local scene, they approached me with the intention of taking the commercial side of the business online. I made use of Squarespace to handle the transactional side of things and manage the inventory, providing a solid basis to build upon. The rest of the store was designed to compliment the main website, sharing elements of layout and detailing.
